Go to FreeRice.com and you, too, can learn geography, put the United Nations’ World Food Program to task, and help feed people who really need some help.  We did all this without leaving “our house.”  Shaka!

Shaka, we loved your site. I’m Mr. L’s brother-in-law, Kevin Landski. I too am also a Mr. L. I teach a sixth grade class in Antioch, CA and my classes and I recently celebrated Peace Day like you did. We loved your huge dove. We’ve got to make that guy next year! You introduced my class to Free Rice. We played it for a while in class and we really enjoyed it. Most of the class voted to play flags of the world. Most of the time we were guessing, but learning all the time. Thanks for being part of a positive force in the world. As you know, it’s all too easy to be negative and think we can’t make a difference. But we can make a difference. Let’s join together for equality and justice in the world. We are a force to be reckoned with. “Power to the people (cue the song, Mr. L)!”

In Mr. L’s class I was Introduced to Free Rice! I love Free Rice because it helps others, it’s fun, and it has shown me that EVERY little grain of rice matters. It has shown me that together we can help achieve world peace and we can all help fight world hunger!

“He that would live in peace and at ease must not speak all he knows or all he sees.”
    -Benjamin Franklin-
I believe this means that when you are at peace with yourself you shouldn’t need to tell people that they are wrong and you don’t need to point out the flaws of others to feel better about your ideas and self.
    Emily Lemons… 🙂
